Black & White Sunday–Happy 4th Birthday Rama!

This is the first photo I ever saw of Rama.  I knew what I was looking for in a Corso and immediately I knew–she was it.  She’d already had someone put a deposit on her from out of state but somehow the person never showed up to claim her.  That was a lucky day for me.

When I went to see her she immediately took a liking to the kids (my middle child specifically) and though she’d never been around many children, she was surprisingly gentle for a 60 pound puppy.  She was playing frisbee with the boys in a matter of minutes.  My littlest was 1 year old at the time and I couldn’t have asked for a better dog to raise with children.

Below with two of the kids, both of whom are grown and off living their own lives now.  One even has a child of her own.  My how time flies…

She was very good with fosters…

Her easygoing nature and gentle disposition made her an excellent therapy dog, and she received her certification at 2 years of age…

And even though she detested showing and a string of surgeries (me, not her) kept her from showing as much as I would have liked, she did well and eventually became a Champion…

I can’t believe it’s been 4 years since she came into my life.  She definitely changed it for the better.  Happy birthday, sweet girl.  And many, many more!
