Monday Mischief–A Little Bit Of Everything
There was a lot of mischief this past weekend as we had a birthday party for the youngest human in the house, so most of my weekend was consumed with that. We had school friends, a bouncy house and a water slide. It was a lot of fun. We were so wiped out from Saturday that we slept in Sunday and pretty much just sat still all day. The dogs got their walks, but no hiking this weekend. I’m still waiting on my hammock to arrive so I can start practicing with the dogs for overnights. I did, however, receive our custom backpack for Cairo by Groundbird Gear. Can’t wait to try that out!
This past weekend was the Susan G Komen Race For The Cure in Orlando. I did not do it this year, but I will be doing the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Orlando on October 25th. Some of you may or may not recall that I had a bi-lateral mastectomy in 2012, followed by nearly 2 full years of reconstruction. Just the other day I scheduled yet another surgery for January. It’s a process. For all the difficulties, I have been extremely lucky. Part of the reason this blog even exists is because of that whole process.
I would love it if our friends out in the blogosphere could help us by spreading the word and making a donation. My team page is here. If you have any trouble at all with any links please don’t hesitate to let me know. I am not sure whether or not pets are allowed to participate in this event (the area is very dog-friendly, usually), but if they are, Rama will be there. After all, she was an important part of my recovery.
