Projects & Dog Bathing Day
The weekend was a busy one here, with lots of housework and projects to do. I’d scored a really cool wooden dresser/shelf unit and desk for my daughter’s room at a garage sale a few weeks earlier and I needed to get started painting it. It was so hot I think I lost 5 lbs from sweating so much. I don’t know what’s up with that first photo, but I think it was because I was outside and the sun was so bright I couldn’t see anything on my phone screen. Anyway, you get the idea. It was pretty “meh” before. It also had a good deal of kid artwork on it. We ordered some cute, handmade Hello Kitty knobs for it. I can’t wait to see what they look like! It’s going to be so cute!
It was also dog bathing day for Cairo. She had gotten into the pool and into the sand and then into the pool and–well, you get the picture. She also must’ve found something dead to roll in, because she was pretty ripe. The youngest human kid helped groom her. She is 4 years old. She was excited to help. We get the kids into the grooming and feeding routine as soon as they are physically able. It’s important for the dogs to see them as being able to do anything to them, at any time. They need to learn to accept being handled by the kids. Cairo was very good. She wasn’t thrilled with the bath, but she was very good with getting herself shampooed, conditioned and her ears cleaned.
I also listed a few more pieces in our etsy store. If you haven’t already, go and check it out! We make inspirational and dog-related jewelry. We did a few custom pieces this past week. We love those!
