Thursday Barks & Bytes & Thoughtless Thursday–Dog Room Dreaming
Yesterday the dog room got a once over. It looks so much better in there. The eucalyptus/spearmint solution that I spray the floors and walls with leaves it smelling so fresh and clean. I’m a firm believer in Odo-Ban, so all crates and the outdoor kennel area are sprayed daily, but inside it is a little overpowering so the eucalyptus/spearmint mixture is nice to finish with. I even rearranged some wall art and put up the adorable Corso wall hangings I purchased at the Orlando dog shows.
The crates have seen better days. I don’t have crate-destroyers per say, but from leaning on the sides they are beginning to bow outward. I usually get my crates secondhand from other dog folks I know or garage sales; wherever I see one that is a good deal, the right size, etc. I miss the old crates. They were super sturdy. Heavy and a pain in the ass to haul around and set up, but sturdy. I have one of these old style crates and I love it. I need to replace the others and I’d rather not go with the airline style (those newer ones are also flimsy nowadays). I prefer something different in the house. I’ve been eyeballing aluminum crates for some time. I’d love some of these:
Oh, to dream. They are pretty expensive. I’d need several of these and I just don’t have that cash right now. Too many things on the To-Do List that require capital. I’d love to learn to weld and try to make my own. Maybe one of the companies that builds them would let me apprentice for a day? Hm…
While we’re dreaming I need a Sprinter and some more land. Here are a few of our dream “wants” for the future:

That’s just a few for now. How about you? What is on your wish list?
